“Bitches Ain’t Shit”… And Apparently Every Other Woman Is Too

With R&B singer Ciara’s release of her post baby weight, weight loss body surfacing on the net. I was inspired to think about her relationship with Future and the logic behind why their engagement may have been called off.

R&B Songstress Ciara, recently released photos of herself posed in Calvin Klein underwear and it made me think about what men say and do in Hip-Hop. I know it seems like a giant leap from scantily clad photos of an R&B singer to what male rappers do in Hip-Hop, but Ciara recently broke up with Hip-Hop impresario and father to her son, Future. What does one thing have to do with another, you might ask? Well when Future and Ciara split it was allegedly due to his infidelity. For the men it is more explicitly and literally spelled out like in 50 Cent’s “P.I.M.P.” single from his debut album “Get Rich or Die Tryin’.” For the women in Hip-Hop, the exploits and the narratives that they craft are as descriptive and vivid as their male counterparts when it comes to having multiple sexual partners and receiving monetary and material gains from their conquests. Again, what does Ciara and Future breaking up has to do with anything? It all comes down to the slogan, “bitches ain’t shit.” PLEAS READ THE FULL ARTICLE I WROTE @ BLACK YOUTH PROJECT
