So as per usual I was scrolling through Instagram and the exact meme escapes me, but it was something about “nigger-rigging.” Now if you are not familiar with the term urbandictionary.com defined it as follows

Nigger rigged a word that came about whenever an African American was lazy and decided hey, instead of constructing a way to actually fix something, it just rather poorly rig it together with whatever materials I can scrape up. Word. The repairs only last a very short time, until the item inevitably breaks again, and the process is repeated. Nigger rigs comprise of anything tied, wired, glued, or taped together, frequently involve coat hangers and duct tape, and are commonly used on items such as mufflers or TV antennas.
The urbandictionary.com was even nice enough to give us “nigger-rigged” in a sentence, “Check out that nigger rigged contraption holding that stereo together!”

Now that we have some working understanding of the term, it got me thinking about the mindfuck that is white supremacy. white people who buy into white supremacy have somehow convinced themselves and their sympathizers that Black folks are inherently lazy and possess an interior common sense or lack thereof that whites believe that they have. Picking cotton in the most inhumane and brutal conditions known to man and having our humanity constantly questioned isn’t enough? white folks who subscribe to white supremacy have a hive mindset that allows them to be so consumed with superficial and fictitious attributes such as skin color and perceived intelligence that they do not realize that their slanderous words are actually compliments. If a suspected bigot says that he needs to “nigger rig” something he is actually saying “I have to use my brain and all my faculties to make a way out of no way.” Do you know what kind of ingenuity it takes to make a damn fiber optic cable (Dr. Shirley Jackson) or a pacemaker (Otis Boykin)?

It seems as though Black genius is always called into question when it is juxtaposed to white mediocrity. white fragility and feelings of inadequacy will lead them to believe that Black folks are lazy and therefore “nigger rig” things while conveniently forgetting the fact that to “nigger rig” is to be so energetic and vivacious that you don’t sit around waiting for some white savior to help, but yet you rely on the collective wisdom of the ancestors and your own creativity to make manifest what is needed. To be Black in this country one has to “nigger rig” damn near from birth to pull off the impossible, which is to survive and thrive in a system of white supremacy that literally tries and far too often succeeds in oppressing and dominating Black lives. white folks have gone so far off into the land of cultural delusion that they fail to realize that they celebrate Black genius so much so that they have created a term that by definition ALL great thinkers and creatives utilize and it’s the cornerstone of innovation. Since Alexander Graham Bell was a white man him sticking a metal key on a kite in the fucking rain shouldn’t be considered “nigger-rigging,” because it’s too grand of a term, so I’ll call it “scientific stupidity.”
